Description
What clothing to wear when skiing?
Adult ski pants here at Yogi’s are a good quality waterproof and thermally insulated outer layer. They will help protect you from the elements when you need them the most. They provide the perfect outer layer but don’t forget the other two important layers!
Firstly, you need good base layers. Usually, thermals or other thin, insulating materials do a good job of wicking sweat and keeping your temperature up.
Lastly, a mid-layer like a solid fleece and long johns. The job of the mid-layer is to provide insulation and trap as much heat as possible.
What other gear should I consider?
Goggles – Now that you have your clothing sorted, other things to consider would be to hire goggles to help protect your eyes from the wind, snow, and UV light. If you plan on skiing for a few days or coming often we also offer goggles for sale starting at as little as $59.99 to top-of-the-range goggles that come with two lenses snow specific technology for around $350.
Helmets – Make sure you protect your head! Helmets are now a standard piece of equipment on the slopes. Make sure you stay safe by either hiring them at Yogi’s or purchasing your very own, our helmets start at around $100 all the way up to over $350.
Gloves – we can’t hire gloves for hygiene reasons but we do have a range of gloves starting from $20 right up to $200.
Whilst it’s always good to save your dollars, remember to check the weather. If conditions are cold and snowy, spending a few extra dollars will be well worth it in the end!
